וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת־מוֹאָ֗ב וַֽיְמַדְּדֵ֤ם בַּחֶ֙בֶל֙ הַשְׁכֵּ֣ב אוֹתָ֣ם אַ֔רְצָה וַיְמַדֵּ֤ד שְׁנֵֽי־חֲבָלִים֙ לְהָמִ֔ית וּמְלֹ֥א הַחֶ֖בֶל לְהַחֲי֑וֹת וַתְּהִ֤י מוֹאָב֙ לְדָוִ֔ד לַעֲבָדִ֖ים נֹשְׂאֵ֥י מִנְחָֽה׃
Ia juga mengalahkan orang Moab, lalu mengukur mereka dengan tali, sambil menyuruh mereka berbaring di tanah; ia mengukur dua tali untuk dibunuh dan satu tali penuh untuk dibiarkan hidup. Maka orang Moab menjadi hamba Daud, yang membawa upeti.
